About

First things first
How do you pronounce my name? Say "ah" and "ee". "Sahng-Hee". A bit counterintuitive I know, since it is spelled Sanghi.

Movement background
Discovering creative movement and yoga as a teenager hooked me on movement as a means for expression and for feeling at home in my body. This led to a career in modern dance and experimental theater, performing with various companies in New York, touring abroad and creating my own choreography. I hold a BFA in Dance from the California Institute of the Arts. Teaching includes movement for actors at New York University, master classes in dance at Portland State University, University of Nebraska and Alaska Dance Theater, a movement class for people living with HIV and other health challenges, facilitating choreographers workshops and assisting in certification programs at the School for Body-Mind Centering. I am currently teaching yoga and embodied anatomy in the SF Bay area.

Bodywork training
During my dance career, I was helped by many holistic practitioners. They saw me through injuries, helped me be a much better performer and opened up my awareness on many levels. I wanted to learn more about the world of healing. I studied the Body-Mind Centering® work and explored many other mind-body approaches including Qigong, Process Work, Continuum, Rubenfeld Synergy and Brennan Healing Science. I am a graduate of the School for Body-Mind Centering (Somatic Movement Educator) and the Oregon School of Massage. I have studied Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute and Milne Institute, and Facial Rejuvenation with Linda Burnham, ND. Last year, I was proud to be on the founding staff at OHSU’s March Wellness, a hospital-based wellness center, providing massage and craniosacral therapy. I now have a private bodywork practice and provide classes and one-on-one coaching in body awareness.
